Journal Update

Content contribution from William (Pop) Braniff

Sunday 22nd March:

International Involvement.

651 people died to-day in Italy. This brings the total number of deaths there to 5,476 and apparently UK is 2 to 3 weeks behind Italy.

400 people died in Spain to-day.

National Involvement

North Norfolk District Council has asked people from elsewhere to stay away until the crisis is past. They have echoed the government call for people to only make essential travel journeys and to walk 2 meters apart when walking.

There will be fewer trains on Greater Anglia lines.

Weather forecast for next few days is “sunny but cold” 10/11 Degrees.

Family involvement

Poem for the day

THE TRUE BEAUTY

He that loves a rosy cheek   Or a coral lip admires,      Or from star-like eyes doth seek   Fuel to maintain his fires;      As old Time makes these decay,      So his flames must die away.

But a smooth and steadfast mind,      Gentle thoughts, and calm desires,      Hearts with equal love combined,      Kindle never ending fires:-      Where these are not, I despise   Lovely cheeks or lips or eyes.
