Shopping Trolley Madness

I just had a funny experience at our local supermarket. Similar to the UK, we in the Netherlands have an advised distance to keep between people. Here the distance is 1.5 meters.

To enforce this, the supermarket has removed all shopping carrier baskets and mandated the use of shopping trolleys.

The idea is that if you are pushing the trolley then you automatically have that distance when navigating the store and queueing up at the till.  I only wanted to buy a can of beer and yet still I had to push the stupid thing around.  Mad!!!!
